I appreciate a man who carries a bag but I cannot get down with Bad Bunny's bag in these photos. I don't like any bag that doesn't have straps. I must be hands-free!
To the original question - despite rising up to fame on social media he doesn't owe anyone any personal information. Obviously, with being a daily reader of LG for nearly 2 decades, I love good gossip but we are not actually entitled to any information about their personal loves. There's a level of entitlement in the idea that celebrities owe the public any information/access to their private lives that can get pretty toxic on a wider, societal level.
Aside to the fashion - Love a good tote/satchel, fashion back pack on a man
I think often about Bunny and what he means to a new generation, and the roles he willingly and unwittingly has taken on - and what is pushed on him. It's so important to remember that icons are human and fallible. Yet I don't think it unreasonable to hold them accountable, or hope for honest dialogue when their audience and fans notice misalignment or incorrect assumptions from the artist. Latinx culture and music is also so terrible racist. I will forever be disappointed in Benito's completely inadequate Time interview response to questions around racism in the industry. He shouldn't be held accountable as the sole knowledge bearer and global representative -- but he should know the questions he'll be asked, whether "fair" or not. Is that not (in part) the role of a good team, to prepare you for those inevitable hard questions? If their guidance is to deflect and avoid, they should also be advising that it will inevitably create a distance between star and fandom... And the last thought I had is that folks who travel an "academic" route, perhaps, are given a unique skillset to understand, frame, interrogate and articulate these deeper contextual factors. Meteoric stardom can create such a deep, impenetrable bubble that arrests the way folks understand their own roles, and those interpretations and dialogues remains insular without super intentional connection with industry outsiders. Who brings that to Benito's table?
I went to one of his concerts in 2019 during the SONAR festival in Barcelona. At the time I only knew him from his collab with Cardi B. I was completely blown away!!! He's super charming, down to earth. He explained that he almost pulled away from that concert because of some political issue in PR.
His song with Rosalía, 🔥 can't get enough of it. And the fashion he pulls!!!
