On fuckass Jared Leto, Law Roach and Crystalle Cox and operation Tomdaya, Mr and Mrs Smell Like Prada, does Jennifer Lawrence need to revive her career, on BTS opting out of Grammy consideration
It's Friday, I'm fried and hot and want a nap. I am so glad I clicked on the Mailbag email. The questions are so good, the answers are thought-provoking, and all of a sudden I feel refreshed. Thank you for this community and for everyone that contributes to it. Have a fab weekend, all!
I know it’s been said before, but it still amazes me - Cameron Diaz’ broken picker. JT, Elon and Jared? A-Rod certainly didn’t treat her well in public. Matt Dillon still seems OK?
On Zendaya and Tom ... What brilliant strategies from their teams, re fragrance synergy and the way they have protected their interiority throughout this very public promotional tour. They almost give me an elevated Posh and Becks --- in that (this year) they feel like A UNIT moving in synchrony with these shared projects. They obviously diverge in their "outsideness" and general thirst/transparency. (And don't come for me Beckham haters lol, I like the Beckhams so to me, I say all this in a complimentary way for Z and Tom) ... It is such a joy to see Law flexing his skills, and Zendaya as well ... And I'm enjoying Law's YouTube deep dives into his various looks, they've been fun and insightful
Thank you so much for your answer and insights! You made it really clear how Western legacy media protects its own stakeholders and artist ecosystem—it’s eye-opening to see how those corporate interests keep the status quo intact.
I’m so pleased for BTS, though. Recognizing their own power, reclaiming their autonomy, and stepping away from that institutional validation is such a huge watershed moment for them as artists. I really hope ARMY keeps them at the center of the conversation once nominations roll out and on Grammy night so that the way they are paving the path isn't glossed over or forgotten.
As far as the names mentioned as a "get" for the Superbowl, do you think Jay Z would consider any of them? All of the artists booked since he began his partnership with the NFL have been black artists other than Shakira and JLo. As far as BTS and the Grammys, I'm sure the Grammys are working hard to secure an artist with a massive fan base that will tune in and bump the viewing numbers so they can counter the argument that they've capitalized on BTS through the years. Oh, so Jared Leto is entering the allegations to right-wing pipeline. Got it
We are months away from a pivot to "born again Christianity."
He's been dressing like emo Jesus for years anyway.
🤢 why is Jared Leto

Goodness. Thanks everyone for another exceptional mailbag.
I’m dealing with a summer cold, so I’m struggling writing something worthy of the BTS watershed moment. I’m just SO proud of them.

Appreciate your take as always!
