There was a video years ago of Ryan Gosling breaking up a fight, I think in New York City. The shot was wide and it was kind of hard to see what was going on. It was pretty obvious someone noticed that it was Gosling and was surreptitiously filming him.
This, however, is a crystal clear angle to see Jonathan Major's face as he runs into frame. The timing and all of that is legit suspicious, but for me, it's how this video looks like a scene from a movie. This is how you would set up such a scene on film.
And the recent trend of really bad PR continues - although, obviously, this wasn't PR, this is totally legit. Disney is just waiting this thing out, right?
I'm going to play devil's advocate and say he ran into a total random's shot from this perfect angle and it's completely organic. And the timing couldn't be better, but really, it's all organic.
Dude, I saw the headline and thought, “No way is that real”. All credit to laineygossip for the PR education and for honing my celebrity bullshit detector.
This! Reading Lainey's website for all these years and getting the inside baseball education has forever impacted how I view celebrity videos like this. This is something for which I'm very grateful.
Hard agree! The headline I saw also included that the video was on TMZ and I was like, “Of coooooourse it was on TMZ. The bastion of shitty men everywhere.”
It is the funniest staged video I think I’ve ever seen. I am here for all the memes. 🍿Man must really be hurting for cash if he couldn’t afford better actors or a director for that. I want to seen the laptop cut! 💀
Don’t these problematic celebrities - and the studios desperately trying to retain their ROI - realize the court of public opinion is far savvier than ever before (thanks to sites like LG who reveal the media’s inside baseball). If they accepted that fact, they wouldn’t waste our time with this kind of amateur PR play - which reeks of disingenuous BS to ever be viewed as ‘real’. Imagine if they actually tried authentic and accountable communication, called a spade a spade, admitted they were negligent in their due diligence before placing big bets on the wrong horse, swiftly took responsibility to course correct, and dropped this fool. Audiences would respect that, and it would differentiate them as a beacon of hope and progress - maybe even give them positive social clout to leverage to their advantage on other fronts, ie the SAG and WGA strikes. And to Jonathan Majors - this may be hard to hear but until you sit with the consequences of your problematic actions, really reflect on them with humility, there’s no hope of any true rehabilitation as a celebrity or as a human. Actions have consequences, and Disney can’t even save you from the years of terror with zero accountability.

To quote Taylor: “it’s giving movie 🤌🏻 its giving cinematography 🤌🏻”
All that’s missing is him looking at the camera and winking!

Totally fake. But also are we supposed to believe that high schoolers are using laptops as video cameras?!?!!
Delighted to click on the above poll to find the result: 100% Fake! We are all on the same page.
Okay please tell me you’ve read the comments on TMZ’s TikTok of the “fight” video! Lolllllllllll
