Real Self acceptance. Of course I feel this way, of course I feel it fully with every cell of my being, of course I honour the way my experiences manifest through emotion. Don't give up on your faith

I just want to say that I love Lainey Gossip and of course I'll renew in the fall. I may have to change my credit card info because I had to change my bank card due to someone trying to steal the information from it, but I'm sure I can figure that out when the time comes.
I've been reading Lainey Gossip daily for at least 12 years, maybe more. I was lead here by a link given at a different blog, a blog I no longer go to although it still exists. LG is the only gossip site I go to daily, multiple times a day, and I save some articles for the weekend so I have my fix every day. I used to go to other sites daily, but they either disappeared, or changed their tone in a way that I found discomforting. The only other site I still visit frequently without prompting is the Fug Girls. They also help me get through the weekend. I also follow the links that interest me in "What Else" but I don't go to those sites independently.
The thing that hooked me long ago was how different gossip was addressed here. It wasn't just pap pics or "oh my god, so and so did something stupid/awful/tacky/illegal!" There's real analysis here, thoughtful commentary, gossip as an educational experience. And when one of you gets indignant at something going on in the gossip world, I feel like it's important to pay attention. So many writers have come and gone that I truly enjoyed, but none more so that Sarah, and Lainey herself. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all the work you do, and the sharing of that work.
So thank you to all the writers who have come and gone, to all those working mostly behind the scenes to keep this place running (looking at you, Jacek and Emily) and to Lainey and Sarah for making this a place to come and relax, find intelligent conversation, and rest in a modicum of peace. I cannot tell you how I appreciate all you do.
P.S. for Sarah: I made your grandmother's Red Velvet Cake with the Ermine frosting last week and it was both beautiful and delicious. I forgot to take a picture of it (as an old woman, my phone is not constantly in my hand and pictures often don't happen) but I will make it again soon and will take a picture and post it then. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. My great granddaughter, who wore that Ermine frosting on her face with enthusiasm and pride, thanks you, too. :D
You'd have to ask Sarah to send it to you. She made a post quite a while back that made mention of some family recipes for cakes and frosting in it, and she said if anyone wanted the recipes to email her and she'd send them.. One was for a Texas sheetcake which was also delicious and the other was for the Red Velvet cake with the Ermine icing. I'm sure if you ask her she'd send it to you.
Awww, Lainey - that clip you embedded is just everything. You should not feel cringey, you should be bursting with pride. The combination of personal admiration and professional acumen completely overlapping in the Venn diagram is a gem of a moment I am sure you will rank in the top of your career. So cool! Well done.
Ok, I know this isn't related to the mailbag, but did anyone else notice that Serena was NOT wearing her wedding ring when she appeared on Hot Ones?? Does this mean anything? I'm stressed for her and Alex. Very.

And, in her most vulnerable moment, she has the courage to show everything. At the same time, Celine raises awareness about Stiff Person Syndrome.
She has given us so much. I hope she takes all the time she needs/wants to heal. We are right here sending our love and cheering her on all the way ❤️

It’s always a cool thing when people you respect get to meet the people *they* respect. And that one was hell of a question! I’m just happy that Lainey had the chance to ask it.
I work in a high-pressure mental health profession and LG and The Squawk are much needed self-care for me! There’s no chance I won’t renew, even while funds are tight.
Also, in regard to Shannon, I don’t think he’ll get the big deals but he will have cultural impact. Apologising publicly to Meghan is massive and he’s building trust with future guests of the show by doing this. I hope I’m proven wrong on the big deals though.
The other reason I enjoy his show is his obvious love for food and fine spirits - he always manages to sneak in some of that food chat lol.
I'm on the fence about Shannon because his views about women are in a silo (?). Maybe it's because I need to watch more than just what's been hyped. He talks about food? I've heard clips of his podcast with Ocho, who I unexpectedly enjoy, about choosing a woman that has snacks (only Ocho would admit this publicly). I watched him with Monica McNutt and she basically challenged him on the things I thought he deserved pushback on. What are your top Shannon interviews? I would love to hear his food takes. He's got the best accent.
The unsolicited sex tapes as Bridgerton auditions is wild AF! I can only presume these are fans of the show but not the genre, in general. For years the idea was that women weren’t into smut but what the massive success of romance novels and shows like Bridgerton show is that a lot of women like smut just fine but with narrative/context. The main complaint about S3 was that there wasn’t enough sex but what that stems from is people’s deep attachment to the characters and wanting to see them happy (and twisting each other up like a pretzel 😆).
