There is a book by Sarah Jaffe called "Work Won't Love You Back: How Devotion to Our Jobs Keep Us Exploited, Exhausted, and Alone." I love my work - which is a gift. But I don't love the entity that is my employer, and I know that they could care less about me. My workplace doesn't love me back. Knowing that puts things in perspective.
